    Invitation to 2009 Beijing International Book Fair

    2009 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) will be held at the China International Exhibition Centre from September 3 to September 7, 2009. The exhibition area will cover 35,000 square meters. Spain will take part in the fair as the Country of Honor.

    As the organizer of BIBF, CNPIEC will invite the publishers form ASEAN to attend 2009BIBF. We will provide the ABPA a free stand for the first year attending BIBF. The booth number is 8A.H04 in Hall 8 at China International Exhibition Centre. The stand will be manned by the Deputy Secretary General Ms. Sonia A. Santiago during the whole duration of the book fair.

    There are some issues I would like to remind you before you come to BIBF this year.

    1. Application for Visa
    Please fill the form 6-2 attached and send it back to us. Then we will
    send you the invitation letter to apply Visa.

    2. Reservation for Hotel
    Please Check the link: http://www.bibf.net/uploadfile/2009BIBF-7-1.pdf
    find the HOTEL RESERVATION FORMs at the last part of the file for the
    hotels near the exhibition center, With this form, the hotels will give
    you preferential price for the BIBF¡¯ exhibitor.

    3. Shipping Ways
    Because of the regulation of Chinese Customs, DHL, FEDEX or UPS could not
    carry your books to the fair site. Since all the Logics companies could
    not do the custom clearance. Then please refer to the instruction below:

    Shipping documents delivery: Shipping documents must be faxed to the
    consignee after exhibits have been delivered for shipping. A “Declaration
    Form for Temporary Import Exhibits” (See attachment) should include with
    the original shipping documents.
    Charges for transportation handled by exhibitors
    All exhibitors handling their own transportation will be charged US $70
    for customs clearance for each batch of exhibit materials.
    Transportation charges from the Beijing Airport to the booth:US$1.35/kg
    (minimum charge of 70kg)

  • Forthcoming book publishing programmes in Indonesia

    • The International Publishing Forum, to be held in conjunction with Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, 7-11 October 2009, at Ubud, Bali
    • 2nd Academic Book Fair 2009, which will be held on 29 October – 3 November 2009, at Perpustakaan Umum Kota Malang (East Java), Indonesia
    • The Indonesia Book Fair 2009, which will be held on 4 – 8 November 2009 at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta

    On behalf of Indonesian Book Publishers Association (Ikapi) we would like to invite all SBPA members to participate in the aforementioned book fairs and forums.
